Russia (via George Galloway on Russia Today) calls the west hypocrites for not respecting the result of the referendum splitting Crimea from the Ukraine. Justification for this stance is due to the various regime change wars that the west have been involved in. Fair point.
But then Russia, who claim the Crimean referendum gives them a legitimate mandate to insert Russian rule, rages against the Ukrainian revolutionaries. Now wasn't Russia itself formed from a very bloody revolution which led to not only to civil war but the removal and murder of the ruling monarch and his family with not a referendum in sight.
I would use the phrase 'people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones' but maybe a more apt saying would be 'people in bloody big tanks shouldn't pretend to be legitimate'.
